Good morning -
This email is for those who attended ACC's hearing loss workshops in August and November 2013.
Last week you should have received an email from Geraint Emrys letting you know that the Hearing Loss Regulations changes were approved by Government. The Minister announced those changes, along with some other regulation changes, on 27 February 2014. The Minister's press release is available at http://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/better-access-hearing-aid-clients and we've put together a webpage at http://www.acc.co.nz/making-a-claim/what-support-can-i-get/services-for-hearing-loss/WPC133463.
On behalf of ACC and the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, we'd like to thank you for your valuable involvement in the hearing sector meetings and working closely with us to develop the changes. We're pleased to have reached this stage, and look forward to the implementation of the changes on 1 July 2014.
ACC is currently working on communications to clients and audiologists with further details on the changes. We will get those communications out as soon as we can.
We've also begun to receive questions about the changes from audiologists. Answers to these will be posted on the ACC website www.acc.co.nz within 7 business days for everyone to see. If you have any questions, please email them to hearinglossproject@acc.co.nz.
Thanks again for your involvement. It is very much appreciated.
Kind regards
Karen Robertson, ACC and Gemma Wiig, MBIE
